Compassion-focused and Insight-oriented therapy

At our first meeting, I collaborate with clients to develop a treatment plan based on their age, reason for counseling, and desired outcomes.  I utilize a variety of strength-based, trauma informed and compassion focused therapy techniques. 

One of my skills is helping clients make connections between their past experiences and current thoughts, feelings and behaviors, which promotes healing from trauma and grief. 

I believe in a systemic approach to therapy and seek to address people not only as individuals, but also as part of a larger system, teaching them to recognize their interactional patterns within relationships. 

I strive to help clients recognize how negative thoughts and habits impact mood, physical health and overall well-being.  I also provide psychoeducation about the body's central nervous system and offer strategies to reduce physical symptoms of anxiety and stress.

- Clinical treatment for depression, anxiety, and stress

- Support for LGBTQIA2S+ individuals, families and community

- Trauma counseling, alcohol and substance use recovery and mood disorders

- EMDR therapy to assist clients with processing traumatic experiences

- Counseling with families, children and teenagers involved with child protective services, foster care and youth justice system 

- Attachment focused therapy and parent education and support for caregivers, single parents, divorced parents and blended families
